Angels out my front door

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

I am sorry to say I missed the high school Christmas concert. I look forward to it each year. But this year I just didn’t make it.

However, something happened while Bob and I were eating supper last night that re-affirmes why we choose to live in a small community.

The door bell rang. Several quick times. Whoever was out there was in a hurry. Bob sighed. “I’ll get it.”
I heard the outside door open and then I heard him call “Alva! Come here. Someone has something they want you to see.”

Outside, standing on an old trailer, for a stage platform, stood four of our favorite nieghbor kids. Four boys… some in school…some not. And they burst into the most rousing chorus of Feliz Navidad that I have ever heard!

Wow! Talk about Christmas spirit! Those guys had it.

Isn’t it those kind of things that make living is a small community special. Even if you miss a concert. Someone might bring it to you.

So may you feel extreme joy and great hope this Christmas season. Feliz Navidad! (more…)

Oh… Those Beautiful Stars!

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

I don’t think I have ever seen so many beautiful stars.

In fact there were 93 of them all total.

Last night the elementary classes presented their Christmas program and it was obvious that many hours of hard work practice went in to the production.

Wow. Awesome. Beatiful. Heartwarming. Funny. Inspiring. Thoae are just a few of the emotins I expreiced while sitting in the audience.

It wasn’t possible to even determine who was having more fun. The audience or the performers. And I can’t forget to mention the proud Moms, Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas!

If you were here please write in and share your favorite part. Was it the flying moose? The singing snow bird? The band? The Choir?

The high school Christmas concert is Monday Dec 17th at 8:00 pm.
See you then!
